Overview:
Chupas are a species of Kreaturez that are very distantly related to the Mardact. Being Rank B creatures, they are very adapted predators of the temperate forests of Odak Island and Ovide Islands.  Chupas live in small packs up to four members, usually one male and three females, including Chupi (Ch-U-pI) which are young Chupas. The species genders are easy to tell, because males have special black and red crest on their heads, while females don’t. These animals live in the canopy and rarely set foot on the forest floor.
Chupas are very intelligent kreaturez and are famous for their ambush hunting from above. Chupas are nocturnal and do most of their hunting at night and early morning. They are rarely seen during the day and they avoid the by living in “Tree Burrows”. Tree Burrows are elaborate living dens that Chupas dig out of large trees. The entrance to these burrows are usually found at the top of trees, and were the roots are is the living den. This elaborate living space is used to help keep the Chupi chicks safe when the adults go off to hunt. Chupas have been known to be very territorial and have been known to have “wars” between other Chupas for territory.
Chupas give birth to live young and are very caring parents. The usual birth of a Chupas is one male and one female chupi, and at birth are very curious and benevolent kreaturez. But, when the Chupi chicks reach their third year, they are scared off by their parents and create a new Chupas pack in a new tree to live in.
Chupas, even though seen mostly in the temperate forests, may have a sub-species living in Ovide Islands’ tropical forest. These Chupas are lighter in color and much smaller and are usually around 4’ in height.


Basic Powers/Abilities:
Chupas are a type of Kreature you don’t want to meet in a dark ally. These nocturnal predators use there massive arms to climb and cling between trees, waiting for unsuspecting prey to walk below it, were it will attack from above. Their jaws are powerful and are good for attacking the neck of its prey.
Its mighty arms contain strong muscles that are good for beating prey with, but due to the lanky arms, Chupas are rarely seen walking around on the forest floor. The claws of the Chupa are mostly used to hold onto branches, but they can be used as melee weapons. Also, the Chupas’ quills on its arms can be used as projectiles, and each have a powerful neuron-toxin. These quills can’t be projected at far away distances, and the average distance of a Quill Fire is about 30ft.
Chupas have three amazing abilities that make them excellent hunters in their forest home. One, are the “ears” of the Chupas. These ear-like fins on the Chupas head are used with its second ability of echo-location. The call of the Chupas is terrifying and allows for very precise hunting in the forest at night. Its total radar range is an area of one mile. The third and final ability of a Chupas is a newly evolved adaptation. The Chupas can inhale large amounts of air, filling up a special air-bladder in its body, and can glide through the forest silently using the small membranes on their arms and legs. Even though this is a new adaptation for the Chupas in the forest, very few use it and only the most skill Chupas can use it in a hunt.

Disposition:
Wild Chupas are usually very elusive kreaturez, but scientist knows that they are very smart predators. Chupas that have been captured show that adults are very hard to handle and view their new owner as prey. Young Chupas on the other hand differ than their adult forms. Chupi are more easy to tame and will become very protective of its tamer over the years.  
Diet: Chupas are an omnivorous race of kreaturez. They mainly eat meat, and prey on anything that is around their size or bigger. They have been known to scavenge, but they are mostly active ambush hunters.
Habitat:
Chupas are usually found in the temperate forests of Odak Island and Ovide Islands, living in the canopy. The sub-species of Chupas live in Ovide Islands’ tropical forest’s canopy.
Strengths:
Chupas, being nocturnal, are great in dark areas with lots of places to hang onto to. Also, its Quill Throw is handy in close combat and makes prey easier to take down. And the echo-location is handy for fighting kreaturez that are good at ambush attacks.
Weaknesses:
Chupas aren’t very good when they don’t have a place to climb to and don’t enjoy sunlight, so tamers don’t use them in open light areas. They are also incredible sluggish during the day.
